Dr. Asad Ata is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management specializing in various aspects of supply chain optimization and designing for flexibility. His current work deals with SMEs and Value Chain Analysis of perishable commodities with a focus on food and agricultural supply chains. Prior to joining academia he worked in the industry for twelve years on various Supply Chain IT, Telecom and e-Commerce projects. Dr. Ata has been a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Cambridge, USA and teaches topics in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Systems and Optimization.
Dr. Ata received a Ph.D. in 2011 from Southern Methodist University Dallas TX, USA in Operations Research, a Master in Computer Science from Arizona State University Tempe AZ, USA and a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. Currently he serves as the Director of Graduate Program at MISI and as a Research Affiliate at MIT.
