Sime Darby participants who attended The Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation’s Procurement Executive Education Program (PEEP) were awarded their certificates at Sime Darby’s Group Procurement Leadership Council on 12th April 2017. Mr. Philip Kunjappy, Group Chief Trading and Procurement Officer, presented the certificates to the program participants.
The award ceremony was attended by Sime Darby’s Group CEO, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohammad Bakke Salleh and the Sime Darby Group leadership team. Mr. Adi Wira Abdul Razak, Head of Group Procurement, mentioned in his speech that the participants in this first batch have identified savings of over MYR 2 million from the projects executed during the program.
The PEEP program covered fundamental procurement areas including Tender and Contract Management, Negotiation Skills, Total Cost Analysis, and Supplier Relationship Management in 12 weeks of e-learning, lectures, case-studies, interactive sessions and projects.
The PEEP program received some excellent reviews from the group. “…we learned a lot about planning, and not resorting to ‘traditional’ procurement, and it helped us become more strategic in our approach”. “This program helps us look at procurement as a whole as it covers all processes in a procurement function”. “Total Cost Analysis helped us analyze costs better and this helps with our negotiation and tendering process”.
The 2nd batch of 20 executives commenced their program on 6th February 2017 and are expected to complete the program in June.
Dr David Gonsalvez, MISI’s CEO and Rector, and the entire MISI team extend their congratulations to the participants and their thanks to Sime Darby Group and Yayasan Sime Darby leadership for their support of the program.
