Founded in 2024 by Loughborough University in partnership with the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics, the UK Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Centre is part of a unique international alliance advancing supply chain leadership across four continents.

MIT UK SCALE Supply Chain Management Program
MSc Supply Chain Management
This one-year, full-time master’s programme combines the latest academic thinking with practical skills and opportunities to address real-world supply chain challenges. Graduates receive:
- An MSc in Supply Chain Management from Loughborough University
- A Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management Certificate from the MIT Global SCALE Network
- MIT Associate Alumni status
- A three-week SCALE Connect residential at the MIT campus in Boston
- Experience applying their learning to a live business challenge through an industry-linked Capstone project
The programme is also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Post-MITx MicroMasters in Supply Chain Management
Students who have successfully completed the MITx MicroMasters in Supply Chain Management can join the MSc through a dedicated programme. The MicroMasters provides 60 credits of exemptions towards Loughborough University’s MSc Supply Chain Management.
Students complete the Supply Chain Management Research Design module online before registering in time to attend the three-week SCALE Connect residential at MIT in Boston. They then complete the remaining 120 credits of the degree at Loughborough University.
The programme provides an opportunity to deepen students’ understanding of contemporary supply chain challenges, develop their analytical and professional capabilities, and convert their MicroMasters learning into a full master’s degree.
