Oscar Nieto Garzón

Research Specialist

Oscar is a research specialist at CLI, with interest in assessing major sustainability issues on urban transportation systems in emerging countries using modelling and simulation techniques based on real-world data. His work provides valuable insights for supporting decision making for public and private stakeholders, helping to design and implement more holistic urban public policies that promotes more sustainable transportation systems.

Oscar holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, as well as a master’s degree (with distinction) in Transportation Systems Engineering from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He has experience in applied research aimed at promoting more sustainable transportation means and assessing vehicular emissions of both air pollutants and greenhouse gases using machine learning algorithms and specific transportation modelling techniques.
